Teachertube: Favorite Video Link

With one class of Spanish 2 this semester I found this video to be extremely helpful. Kids love to watch videos and podcasts in the classroom and it gives them an alternate delivery method to instruction. I liked the idea of a student explaining a new concept as often they will use the language necessary for the students to "get it".

Wk 2 - Podcast Subscription

As previously mentioned I am the ESL Coordinator for BISD. The new Spanish teacher our district hired has not made it here yet due to difficulties with Visa process. THEREFORE.... they have asked me step in and cover until she gets here.

After exploring different podcasts I choose "Learn Spanish" presented by SpanishDict.com. I downloaded two episodes to use in the Spanish 1 courses I teach. The podcasts supported what we were currently learning. "Greetings and Introductions" and "Numbers and Time."

I felt that the podcasts gave the students an additional view on learning those concepts as well as additional time to comprehend the concepts. The students enjoyed the podcasts and I hope to continue to support the curriculum when podcasts are available that coincide to what I am teaching.

Overall downloading the podcasts proved to be successful.

Greetings and Introductions was also published to youtube.com. Click below.
